The UK’s Most Underrated Rock Bands

The UK music scene is currently experiencing a massive change. There aren’t many huge rock bands at the peak of their popularity and the pandemic has ruined the live music scene, therefore stunting the growth of so many up-and-coming bands. But by no means does this mean there aren’t some incredible bands that you just haven’t heard of yet. Therefore, let me introduce you, to my pick of some of the best small rock bands in the UK…

This Brighton indie-rock band really are ones to watch, with the recent release of their second studio album, they have really proved that they are one bad ass rock band. Their style can only be described as ‘cinematic’ with many of their songs having a sort of spaghetti-western feel to them.

Airways

Airways are a true, grass roots alternative rock band. They have a fierce stage persona and a handful of loud, fast, catchy and generally just insane songs. I find myself going mental by myself in my room quite regularly.

The Clause

Blues, disco, dance and pure sauce. The Birmingham band manage to perfectly balance so many different genres to make a smooth and slick rock sound. Their most popular single ‘In My Element’ made it to No.1 in the UK ITunes Rock Chart and has received widespread praise across the country.

Unique as f***. This band might just be my favourite band on the list. I really haven’t found a band that are quite as special this one. With great vocals, fast paced instrumentals and incredibly well produced tracks, this band are bound to blow up.

The Lounge Society

The Lounge Society are a modern post-punk band which have already managed to attract the attention of no other than NME. With only three original tracks currently out on Spotify, the Yorkshire quartet are already making waves in the British post punk scene.

CHILDCARE

CHILDCARE have been one of my favourite bands for years. With their earlier EP’s offering some of the quirkiest indie rock songs I have ever heard and their debut album offering a spiritual journey, you can’t help but love this band.

BILK

You could describe every song this band make as great. Their punky style paired with their honest, quirky and humorous lyrics makes me desperate to see them live.
